| More Turning To Self-Employment |

Unemployment figures are on the increase, but so too are the number of self-employed people. The latest statistics show a shift in working patterns with an additional 101,000 people choosing to work for themselves giving an overall total of 4.12 million, excluding those working on a part-time basis. The total number of people in employment also saw a raise, increasing by 18,000 to just over 29 million. Speaking during Prime Minister’s Questions, David Cameron said: "If you look at the figures, it is noteworthy that while the increase in unemployment is hugely unwelcome there is still an increase in the number of people employed, another 18,000 people in work. Now what that shows is that we need more private sector employment. We need to move further and faster on that agenda."
